A leading modelling agency in the United States complained that photographs of their models had been illegally copied from their website and used in a number of high profile Internet scams.

One particular scam netted over US$100,000 from a victim in Chicago. IFW traced the scam to Nigeria and a number of suspects were identified and monitored. The information was provided to the Economic Financial Crimes Commission in Nigeria and a number of arrests were made. EFCC investigators also found evidence of at least 90 other internet scams also being conducted by the same group in Lagos, Nigeria.
