The IFW was responsible for identifying and exposing a major fake ticketing website prior to the 2007 Rugby World Cup in Paris, France. IFW operatives tracked and monitored an individual in Spain, who built and developed the fake website over a six month period. 

The scammer, who had a history of fraud, was identified and confronted in Paris by Ken Gamble and a British film crew from ITV’s Tonight Show (With Trevor McDonald). The website was successfully taken down and the individual reported to French police. Subsequent legal notices were served on the offender, who fled the country to avoid arrest.
