Manufacturing

Manufacturing companies are increasingly susceptible to online fraud. Fraud of this type committed against manufacturing companies includes:

Internet Fraud Watchdog assists manufacturing clients tackle internet fraud and online scams that affect their business.

Studies have shown that manufacturing fraud - particularly online - has increased 40% in the past five years and continues to grow. 

Particularly during times of economic uncertainty, fraudulent activity can spike. This would be particularly concerning to manufacturers in these uncertain economic times.

An ACFE (Association of Certified Fraud Examiners) report in 2008 revealed that manufacture:

  • Had the fourth most reported cases
  • Ranked second in dollar terms
  • Fraud typically took two years to detect

Much of this could have been avoided with more stringent internal controls and a company such as Internet Fraud Watchdog monitoring the problem online.
